GBD Assistant 1
GBD Assistant Opportunity

It is a unique opportunity for young Australian Golf Professionals wishing to develop new skills and advance their careers with the focus squarely on golf instruction. The position combines certification in the Jim McLean Teaching System as well as developing expertise in the use of 3D technology for Swing Analysis, BioFeedback Training and exercise prescription alongside world expert in golf biomechanics, Robert Neal.

The program started in 2008 with the first Golf BioDynamics Assistant, Brett Bridgman. Brett currently resides in Singapore where his is quicklydeveloping his reputation at The Phil Brew Golf Academy (The National Service Resort and Country Club). Following in Brett's footsteps, the next Australian PGA professional to take up the position hailed from Royal Canberra Golf Club - Steve Keogh. Steve is now the Teaching Professional at Tempe Driving Range (Sydney, Australia) and is also continuing his education studying Sport Science and Personal Training.

Our current Golf BioDynamics Assistant is Gavin Sutherland. Gavin is from the Hunter Valley in NSW and arrived to Miami in August 2010. During his time here at the Jim Mclean Golf School he has managed to work first hand with many top level amateurs and Tour Professionals the likes of Keegan Bradley, Alexis Thompson and Andres Romero as well as the German and Danish National Golf Teams. He has also attended the 2011 PGA Golf Show in Orlando, FL as well as the 2010 World Golf Fitness Summit hosted by TPI. Gavin will be completing his training in March 2012 and is currently exploring his future teaching options either still in the United States or back in Australia.

We would like to formally thank Brett, Steve and Gavin for the exceptional job they have performed for both Golf BioDynamics and The Jim McLean Golf School and we wish them all the success with their futures.

We are also excited to announce our next Golf BioDynamics Assistant for the 2012 -2013 season, Josh Longney. Josh is originally from New Zealand and became a PGA member of Australia at the end of 2009. He completed his PGA training at the prestigious New South Wales Golf Club. This summer he accepted an internship at Royal Portrush Golf Cub (Northern Ireland). Josh will begin his Golf BioDynamics training in December 2011 and we look forward to welcoming him to the team at Doral.
