Pieter is a highly qualified sports physiotherapist with a special interest in preventing overuse injuries in golf. He completed a Degree in Human Movement Science in 1993 followed by a Physiotherapy Degree in 1997. Both of these qualifications were gained in South Africa. Pieter has been specializing in sports injuries for the past 9 years. Since 2000, however, his focus has been the management of lower limb injuries and lower back pain especially as they relate to golf swing mechanics. He has since completed numerous international courses that focus on the treatment and rehabilitation of golf related injuries
In 2003, Pieter met Dr. Robert Neal at a Golf Athlete seminar in London. It was there that Pieter was exposed to the 3D swing analysis measurement system that Dr Rob Neal had recently introduced to The Jim McLean School in the USA. So, impressed was he by the capabilities of the Golf BioDynamics (GBD) System, he purchased his own GBD System in 2004. This he operates from various locations in and around Pretoria and Johannesburg , South Africa. A very keen golfer, Pieter says his time is now largely spent assisting others to enjoy the game by improving their golf specific physical fitness and educating golfers in injury prevention.
