Alvaro is a sports physiotherapist with a special interest in preventing overuse injuries in golf. He completed a Degree in Human Movement Science in 1993 followed by a Physiotherapy Degree in 1997. Both of these qualifications were gained in South Africa.
Alvaro currently manages his own private practice in Madrid and has been specializing in sports injuries for the past 10 years. Since 2000, however, his focus has been the management of overuse injuries and lower back pain as it relates to golf swing mechanics. He has since completed numerous international courses that focus on the treatment and rehabilitation of golf related injuries. He is also the founder of “Golf Y Salud” and has been associated with the Spanish Professional Golf Tour and both the Madrid and Spanish Golf Federations. He is a regular contributor to the Spanish version of Golf Digest. Alvaro also consults to the Jim McLean Golf School in Madrid (www.jimmclean.com)
In 2003, Alvaro met Robert and Karen in New York. It was there that Alvaro was exposed to the 3D swing analysis measurement system and the technical-physical for golf link was demonstrated. Seeing the relevance to his own clinical practice and direction, he purchased his own GBD System in 2003. This GBD System he operates from his clinic in Madrid, Spain.
