May 11, 2007 - Bogotá, Colombia
Robert, Karen and Andres Rodriguez (Jim McLean Golf School Instructor, Miami, Florida) traveled to Club Campestre Guaymaral to conduct Golf Clinics to both Junior and Senior Club Golfers.
Golf instruction in Colombia has traditionally focused on the ‘basics’ (grip, stance, posture, aim and alignment) along with of course, motion of the club. GBD’s inaugural trip to South America was designed to highlight both the use of the 3D System in instruction (Measurement of body motion during the golf swing, BioFeedback Training and physical conditioning elements stretching, stability and strength) and the Jim McLean System for golf instruction, in order to bring some attention to the importance of optimal body motion during the swing.
Sincere thanks must go to Oscar Moreno and Manuel Londono at Club Campestre Guaymaral for the invitation and warm welcome extended to both Golf BioDynamics and Jim McLean Teaching Professional Andres Rodriguez. To Connie Deportes at Club Guaymaral for her organizational efforts in ensuring that the GBD/McLean Golf Program came to fruition. To Jorge Mesa, representative of the Colombian Golf Federation and Columbia’s premier Teaching Professional, for his presence, support and open-mindedness during the weekend. And to all the Guaymaral Instructors for their hospitality.
